CMHA Parkland is proud to present Theoren Fleury for two upcoming events, on August 25, 2010 in Swan River, MB and August 26, 2010 in Dauphin MB.
We are very excited to be able to bring Theoren to the Parkland to share his story, “Playing with Fire” is the best selling autobiography of Theoren in which he shares how he became a star player winning a Stanley Cup and Olympic gold medal despite battling drug and alcohol addictions that ultimately ended his NHL career. He talks about his attempted suicide and discusses the sexual abuse he suffered as a teenager. CMHA is a non-profit organization and we really appreciate all of our local support and the sponsors who have eagerly jumped on board understanding how important the message he has to share really is.
Our hopes are to get the awareness out to all of our residents in the Parkland Region and our surrounding communities, in hopes to help people on their roads to recovery, and to use this opportunity to extend our helping hand to those not knowing where to turn.
It is CMHA’s mandate to offer several services in the Parkland Regions such as Continued Support & Housing, Self-Help One on One Support and groups for Grief Recovery, Self Esteem, Anxiety, Anger Management and Depression, Individual support is offered to anyone who is experiencing difficulty in various areas of their life.
Our mission at CMHA is to prevent mental illness and promote recovery for all of the citizens in the Parkland Region with emphasis on community awareness, support services, crisis intervention services and internal/external partnerships.
